Daughter Of Faith
Mary is a young woman from the rural backlands of northeastern Brazil who dreams of transforming her life through education, hard work, and perseverance. Raised by a loving but impoverished mother, she grows up surrounded by drought, economic hardship, prejudice, and limited opportunities. After her parents separate, Mary struggles with the emotional consequences of her father's absence while listening to her mother's painful experiences with relationships and poverty. Her mother encourages her to study, maintain her integrity, and never abandon her dreams. Mary promises that if she succeeds, she will one day help her mother fulfill the dreams she was forced to abandon.
